Heal, Support, Grow;
Animals, Nature, People.

Humanity Heroes is a non-profit organization that aims to heal, support and grow; animals, nature and people of all ages.

We believe our programs will offer long-term sustainable solutions that can help give our future planet a fighting chance.

Who We Are

Founded in 2013 by Matthew King (AKA Matte Black) after being homeless himself for nearly 10 years, he was discovered by a record label and given a 4 year contract that changed his life forever. Once he realize it only took someone to believe in him to start believing in himself, he then chose to dedicate his life to spreading this realization with other homeless youth. Which led him to create Humanity Heroes (Formally called Heroes In Black) to advocate and support people, animals and nature.

"Our mission is to remind every living thing (at all cost) that they are truly worthy and loved."
"Matthew King"

Together alongside some amazing contributors, Matthew offers new-age initiatives and a fresh perspective to people living in shelters or on the streets that most organizations have not been able to give them. Mainly because he used to live in the shelters and streets that house the people he is now trying to help.

'We are for the homeless, by the homeless.'
 "Matthew King"

What We Do

Humanity Heroes remains an active force within the cities of Toronto, Edmonton and Sudbury with various initiatives throughout the year.

For 9 years, Humanity Heroes has been ensuring people

experiencing homelessness have access to healthy, nutritious meals; restoring their confidence and sense of self-worth; while creating a safe-zone for them to explore and evolve. The fundamentals are the foundation to every initiative we've develop so far.

Now we're taking this formula and applying it towards animal and nature issues our country is facing.

We're also currently expanding in Windsor and Lambton-Kent regions.

OUR INITIATIVES

Hero Camp

Humanity Heroes takes 30 youth in shelters at a time on a life-changing retreat in Northern Ontario. Here we offer holistic healing and self-development programs that offer these youth the tools and coping mechanisms necessary in sustaining a fresh start and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
*To date we have taken 750+ youth from shelters on camping trips across Canada.*

Holiday Heroes

On Christmas Day, through the acts of various donations from the community, Humanity Heroes station themselves equipped with countless gifts for all in need. We offer a sense of community, togetherness, and restore a sense of holiday spirit that is so easily lost while living on the streets.

*To date we have collected and distributed over 135,000 brand-new wrapped gifts across Canada.*

Love Letters To The Homeless/Stranger To Stranger

Every year we join forces with people all over the world doing positive things to get there communities involved in writing letters of encouragement and hand them out on Valentines Day and Memorial Day to the downtown cores of major cities across the world. Our goal is to remind people in there darkest times that they are loved. We hand out letters, clothes and food to everyone we find during our global walks through the downtown cores as well as senior homes, shelters and rehabs.

Mango Jack Haven

We believe there is so much healing power in helping others through their tough times. It is for this reason that we aim to create an animal rescue dedicated to saving the lives of cats, dogs and farm animals from kill shelters. It's our goal to couple a rescue animal with each person residing at Tom & Garry's to build loving relationships for both the animals and people in our programs.

Kali's Dream Factory

Kali's Dream Factory, Humanity Heroes first youth centre.

An entrepreneurial development centre for at-risk and homeless youth in the GTA. The name "Kali" is from one of our founders best friends who passed away while he was homeless. He truly believes if there was a place that existed like this, Kali would still be here. Our goal is to create a place that future youth like Kali will have a chance to build their passions and abilities into a financially secure life they can build on their own.

Tom & Garry's

A tiny home community alongside Mango-Jack Haven that people can stay at long-term to rediscover themselves while building relationships with animals. By combining rescued animals and rescued people together, we believe there is no limit to the healing that can be offered to someone who hasn't always known what unconditional love looks like. On top of this we provide training for people looking to focus on strengthening their individual skills and gifts. To help them find a career doing the things they love.

Haircut Heroes

We have partnered with local hair dressers in order to offer free haircuts to those who otherwise would be unable to enjoy such services. It not only reminds them that they are important and loved; it also boosts their confidence and encourages them to dive back into the world and become active and beneficial members of our society. When you look good, you feel good.

To date we've helped 1600 people find jobs through these haircuts in addition to our mentorship.

Angel Armour

Thanks to our sponsors at Angel Armour we've been able to provide a two for one deal on all clothes purchased on our site. So when you buy any shirt or hoodie for yourself, someone in a shelters across Canada will receive a brand new shirt or hoodie as well from each purchase. Together we've helped clothe over 65,000 people.

Since the launch of Humanity Heroes in 2013, we have given 1 scholarship to the Royal Conservatory, created 11 Initiatives to rebuild, inspire and employ people living on the streets, held over 250+ events in the province of Ontario, helped over 1600 people gain employment, worked with over 2,000 volunteers, fed and clothed over 65,000 people, payed first and last for 150 youth in shelters to get there very first apartments, collected and distributed over 135,000 Christmas gifts, and coincidentally managed to spread a wildfire of over 10,000,000 acts of random kindness throughout the country of Canada.
